OMG!!!

Biggest crowd ever at Madison VFW Friday, March 21st!  Back 40 wants to thank each and every one of you for your constant support.  We love to play to an energetic crowd and that was you.  The April schedule and beyond will be logged in soon.  Just an FYI, we are at Madison VFW the 3rd Friday of each month.  Mark it on your calendar and we will see you in no time.  Thanks again.

Where is the BACK 40 ?

We just wanted to let you all know that we will be in Madison November 8th and 10th at the VFW on Cottage Grove Road. Friday the 8th we start at 7:30 and play until 11:30. Great Fish Fry and a large dance floor!! Sunday we are back (in the front bar) from 4-8 pm. We would love to see everyone for a good dance party!! With the weather getting colder, there is no better way than to get out on the dance floor and move around for warmth and of course a good time! Hope to see you there!! We sure appreciate all of the support we get from all of you!! Be well and see you soon.

Cancellation!!

Hello all!!
Where does the time go?  I noticed I put our picture up in November!  Whew!  We haven't had a new one taken I guess....anyway, I wanted to let everyone know that our gig on Sept. 13 at Madison VFW on Cottage Grove Road has been cancelled.  
We will return to the VFW on Sunday, Sept. 15th however from 4-8 pm to give you the best entertainment possible!

BACK IN THE BACK!!

Hi to all of our followers! 

We are so thankful that you continue to support the BACK 40 on our musical journey.  We appreciate all of you. 

Just a reminder that Friday, Nov. 9th we are at the Madison VFW (in the back) ready to provide you all with some music you can dance to! We love your enthusiasm and energy you give us each and every time we see you.

Stop in for a fish fry first and then dance it off.  Hope to see you soon and as always.......

GOT RIBS?

Ribs and music?  Why not!  This Sat, August 25th at Kiser Park in Oregon WI, the Lion's Club is having their first annual Thrilla On The Grilla!   Come out and enjoy 10 ribs and 5 sides AND beverages from 5 local rib establishments for only $10.00!!!  Seriously how can you beat that?

We are providing the entertainment for the rib fest so come eat and listen and help support the Lion's Club!

You can get your tickets at the park when you arrive or from me if you would like to know that you will for sure get your tickets.  Call 852-6708 if you want me to hold them for you so you can pick them up at the park.

Wow, it is tough to keep up on a blog we are finding out but here we are again.  Short announcement update...we are playing at Turner Hall in Madison (Off Hwy 51) on Sunday July 29th from 7:15-10:00 pm.  There is a $5.00 cover which isn't bad for a night out.  Come and dance the night away with the Back 40 and as always ....THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

New Faces at the Pour House!!

OMG!!  We had a fantastic time at the Pour House last night!  Thank you to all that were able to make it out to the "gig".  We had the NKE teachers and fans, former librarians, former elementary teachers of mine table (seriously rowdy group!) my USTA tennis table (new followers), parent's/family table (faithful followers) and New faces tables all around!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

We played some of our standard classic country tunes along with rock n roll tunes that got people up and out of their seats.  The dancers were shakin it up!   Love that!! 

All I can say is that when we are singin to the crowd, I am so grateful for friends and family.  Without your support we couldn't do what we do. 

We hope you enjoy the evenings out and hopefully we will see you again in the near future.

Cottage Grove VFW debut

Back 40 made their first appearance at the Cottage Grove VFW in Madison on Sunday the 31st of July.  It was the fastest 4 hours of playing that we had ever experienced.  Why you ask?  SO MUCH FUN!!!!  The crowd was awesome, we met new and exciting people who really appreciated the music.  Thank you for that!  
We are hoping your enthusiasm brings us back in the near future!  Thanks again for your support, we hope to see you at our next gig!!

Pour House Party

Thank you all for coming out to the Pour House in Stoughton. We had a "HOT" time (smile) There was dancing, conversation, new and familiar faces. Hope you can come out again when we play whether it be at the Pour House or somewhere else. We appreciate your following and hope you appreciate our music.

We are learning new songs all the time and can't wait to try them out for you all. Check the schedule here at the blog and see if there is a time that works for you.

DATE NIGHT RESULTS

We saw new faces, new dancers, new moves by Shelly K. and an overall new energy brought to the floor last night at the Stoughton VFW!
 
We want to thank everyone who could make it out last night.  It was fun to play for a crowd that looked like they really enjoyed themselves. 

Some of the highlights of the evening were dancing to Ring of Fire!  Way to go NKE followers and OMS newbie!  My mother galloping across the dance floor with Shelly K. and I was able to dance the last song with my dad!  We almost witnessed a "wheelie chair" ride until the stink eye came out.  Light up hats, bling and bedazzling lit up the floor, people were out to party!!

Our next gig is April 23rd at the Stoughton VFW from 7-10:30pm...hope you can make it out!

DATE NIGHT!!!

It is that time of year when couples, friends and family could use a break from the house!!!  Get on your dance clothes and join us for another night of fun and frolic!

The BACK 40 band will make another appearance at the Stoughton VFW on March 19th, from 7:00 - 10:30pm.  We hope you can make it out, we guarantee FUN or your money back.

Well,  it has been awhile since we've checked in with our 7 followers - how ya all doin?  Seeing you out at the Stoughton VFW last night, looks like you are doing well.

First of all, we want to take this opportunity to thank our "+2".  Bernie played the keyboard, steel guitar and sax and Karen kept a steady beat on the drums.  They were a wonderful addition to the group and we are hoping to get them back for a future gig.

To all of you who were able to make it out last night, we want to thank you for making it a great night for us and we truly appreciate your support.  For those who were not able to be there, we hope to see you next time.

It is not 1 and done!

Hey good news!
We have another job for friends and family to come to!  We are happy to announce that the Stoughton VFW wants us to come play a gig on Saturday, December 18th.  We have not settled on a time yet but we will let you know. 
It will be another great night of dancing, sharing time with friends and family and above all getting out for the evening!

A Big Thank You!!!

To the tens of thousands of people who may be reading this post - or the one!  We want to thank you for your evening of support at the Pour House in Stoughton.  What a great turnout and because of you, we now have a reason to continue living or find more gigs.

Seriously, we appreciate all of your support and encouragement.  There were many fabulous dancers, winners of trivia, (Heather can't afford that again), laughs, smiles, hugs, kisses, and I am sure you all saw our #1 Fan Shelly Kadow!  (She is taking shirt orders for the next gig)  
We are working on new songs and songs we didn't sing that were requested but most of our time is spent trying to learn the songs that we tried to play on the 23rd. 

There is a lot to be said for friends and family, we truly appreciate your support.

A New Journey

Back 40 band welcomes you to our new blog. 

We started this blog to share our experiences with all of our friends and family.  Currently we are preparing for our debut gig at the Pour House in Stoughton on October 23rd from 8-11 pm.  Come and go as you please.

Everyone is invited to join in the fun and enjoy some good ol' country music.
